Small plane crashes near Roanoke, VA airport
March 31st, 2010 - 2:12 am ICT by BNO NewsROANOKE, VIRGINIA (BNO NEWS) – A small plane crashed near the Roanoke Regional Airport in Virginia, local media said Tuesday.
At least two people boarding the small private plane that was believed to be heading toward the airport and getting ready to land as it was reporting problems to the control tower.
The plane crashed north of the airport, hitting the UPS Freight building at around 12:30 p.m., local time, causing a fire that has already been put out. No one on the ground appeared to have suffered injuries from the accident.
No further details were available regarding the plane’s problem or its passengers.
