- CARSON CITY, Nevada (BNO NEWS) — Two people were injured after a small plane crashed at a western Nevada airport on Saturday morning, officials told BNO News.
The accident happened at the Carson City Airport in Carson City around 10.25 a.m. local time, a fire chief told BNO News. It happened at the end of the airport’s runway where it flipped over and ended up in the dirt as it was trying to land. “The fire department had to evacuate two passengers,” Casey Pullman, the airport’s manager, said.
The airplane was a Ford T18, which is a single engine home-build aircraft. Both of the victims, two males who were a father and son, were airlifted to Renown Medical Center with serious injuries. There is no word on their current condition.
The airport is closed until further notice while the cause of the crash is being investigated.
The Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) confirmed the crash but had no additional information.
