Sep 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Aviointeriors, an Italian company have created an innovative kind of seat, the Skyrider. The new seat has special feature in it as it cuts passenger space down to 23 inches. The company officials have reportedly said that the Skyrider seats will be unveiled next week at the Aircraft Interiors Expo Americans conference in Long Beach.
It seems that while making Skyrider, the company has kept in mind about the population explosion and hence they have tried to accommodate more passengers at a small space in their recent effort. The media says that the new product can appeal to the low cost airlines that have thought of providing their passengers standing room tickets on short flights. The Skyrider, has reportedly not been brought or approved by any airlines yet. However, the company Aviointeriors has said that the whole idea is liked by many airlines and even US airlines have shown their interest in the whole concept.
Dominique Menoud, director general of Aviointeriors Group, in one of the interviews said that the company feels extremely confident that this whole concept will have a great appeal to airlines and for “economic” purposes. The director said that the seat is like a “saddle”. He meant to say that like the way the cowboys ride eight horses during the day and feels comfortable in the saddle, in the same way the passengers will also feel comfortable in the Skyrider. The company says that the seats are at a forward angle so that the passengers legs can slip under the seat in front of them. The Skyrider has been designed and engineered to offer airlines the chance to cut down the ticket prices by introducing the super high density seating.
