Skydivers Patrick James McGowan & Christopher David Stasky die in an accident

Riverside County, April 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Two skydivers plunged to their untimely death when they collided in the air causing their parachutes to deflate. The accident happened over Perris Valley Airport in California’s Riverside County and it led to the deaths of Patrick James McGowan of Menifee and Christopher David Stasky of San Diego. Both men were 42 years old.

According to The Press-Enterprise’s report on the incident, Patrick McGowan is a skydiving instructor and he has worked with the airport for about two decades now. He was the overseer of the parachute activities in and around the airport. According to officials, Patrick McGowan has had about 17,000 parachute jumps until his death.

The other victim, Stasky was helping Patrick McGowan to train Canadian parachute instructors for the Canadian Army.

The two men fell from at least 300 feet from the sky after their parachutes collided. They were sent tumbling from the sky after their parachutes deflated. Airport emergency workers rushed to the scene to try and resuscitate them but they were already dead from the impact.

Local and federal investigators have commenced investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the bizarre accident.
