KANSAS CITY (BNO NEWS) — Kansas City police have arrested a sixth suspect in connection with the Missouri case in which a father and his four sons are suspected of sexually abusing six young relatives for as long as seven years, state officials said on Thursday evening. Additional victims have also been identified.

Larry Kidd, 55, from Kansas City was arrested without incident on Thursday evening and is being transported to the Lafayette County Jail, where the other five suspects are also being held.

Authorities had earlier said there was a sixth suspect in the case, but were refusing to provide further details as the investigation into him was still continuing.

Kidd has been charged with the rape of a child less than 14 years old. He was identified as an associate of the Mohler family. Specific details of his role in the case have not yet been released.

On Wednesday, prosecutors released the criminal complaints against the other five suspects in which they are accused of sexually abusing young relatives for as long as seven years. The victims were the five daughters and one son of one of the father’s sons.

In the criminal complaint, some of the suspects are accused of carrying out fake weddings with the children and forcing one of the girls to have sex with a dog. All have also been accused of repeatedly raping the girls with objects such as a screwdriver and a pencil.

The five suspects were identified as Burrell Edward Mohler Sr., the father, and his sons Burrell Edward Mohler Jr., Jared Leroy Mohler, Roland Neil Mohler and David A. Mohler.

Also on Thursday, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said its press conference on Wednesday had resulted in “the identification of additional victims in the case.” The statement from the agency did not provide how many new victims had been identified.

Authorities are also searching the property of the father in the case after information was obtained alleging there are bodies buried there.

The initial five suspects made their first court appearance on Thursday. They did not enter pleas.
