turin2Mar 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The mystery of the Shroud of Turin has finally been unveiled, at least. partially. The Shroud, which is believed to be the one which was used to cover the body of Jesus Christ when he was buried, has created a lot of controversy ever since it was discovered, mainly owing to the fact that it has on itself the imprint of something that looks very much like a face. The proposition has been much disputed and equally credited, but a concrete conclusion has never been reached to, mostly due to the fact that the cloth is too old for the scientists to be really able to ascertain its age.

Scientists have finally been able to reconstruct the face that imprints the Shroud of Turin. The image took a total of six months to recreate. The scientists reveal that they were able to recreate the image by the means of the blood that caked the Shroud, and by creating three dimensional images of the face. The images that were created on the computer gives credibility to the fact that the imprint was not an artifact, but was made by an actual human face.

According to one of the computer artists who worked on the project, the recreation of the face of Jesus Christ is practically impossible, and the only source that is at least credible in parts is the Shroud of Turin. It remains the only existing object that is so directly linked to the reformer, and gives a clue to his actual face. However, doubts remain as some researchers are of the pinion that the Shroud might not be that old, and might only date back to the medieval ages.
