Dec 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Its the pre-Christmas season and party time for all the Americans and rest of the world. After Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales it seems that all Americans are geared up to shop till they drop. However, one of the important thing that every shopper should keep in mind is that they should pay attention to the check out counter and check all the receipts before they give their payments.
Los Angeles County inspectors reported that on 2009 more than 900 stores did not charge the sale price as promised. The law enforcement officials said that shops like Target and Toy R Us did not change the price in the scanner and sold the things in their previous price. Ken Pellman, a spokesman for the county Weights and Measures bureau said that the shoppers should keep the receipts so that they can claim their money when they feel that shops have not taken the right price. The shoppers can even get rid of their post holiday blues by keeping the receipts. They can judge in the future how much money they have spent and how much could have been avoided.
The experts say that the consumers need to stick to their budgets so that they do not find themselves broke the next year. So it is important to keep receipts of all the purchases so that they can return an item when needed. The gift receipts, however, allow the consumers to return the items but these do not show the customers how much they have paid for their item. Credit payments can be done if the consumer wants to keep the absolute detail of the transaction. Even, it has been reported that the shops have become strict and even a consumer was reportedly tackled when he failed to show the receipt.
