smileMilford, June 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Saturday the police arrested Desiree Fontaine a well known local traffic reporter for a news channel.

The arrest was made after a departmental store complained that the reporter had walked into the store and shoplifted merchandise worth more than $100 and left without paying for it.

However the reporter was released from the police custody after she reportedly promised to make court appearance regarding the case on July 7. Desiree Fontaine has been charged with 6 degree of larceny.

Although the police said that Desiree Fontaine had walked into the Sears Department store recently and had lifted merchandise worth $104.98, and that the shop owner had complained to the police, they did not divulge any further information on the mater.

Neither the news channel where Desiree Fontaine works nor the reporter herself has addressed the media after the incident. The company official has maintained that it is against the rule book of the company to comment on any personal issues of its employees.

However, on Monday a New Haven lawyer named Hugh F. Keefe revealed to a media source over telephone that he has been hired by the reporter to represent her in the court on July 7. The lawyer urged the public not to hold any judgment against the reporter unless all the facts come out clearly in front of the court.

He said that Desiree Fontaine is a “rare and incredibly talented TV person” and that she has a huge fan base in Milford. According to Hugh F. Keefe few things are not as simple as they seem to be and that the fans should keep this in mind while forming any impression of the reporter.
