Oct 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Halloween costume parties and contests provide the adults with an opportunity to connect with their child like desires and ideas. However, the party mood at Dream Night Club in Hampton Bays turned into one of terror when a person shot the party organizer and another man on Friday. The party had scheduled a costume judging contest at the end. Things turned ugly when two contestants got into a fight over the results of the contest. The fight soon tuned serious and a man dressed as a bank robber from “Dead President”, reportedly, went out and returned with a gun with which he shot the party organizer and a 64 year old man.

The 64 year old man known as Carlo Petrusa, of Riverhead, died at Brookhaven Memorial Center on Friday. Carlo Petrusa had nothing to do with the fight, reports suggest that he was not present when the fight broke out. He was standing near the front door of the club when the shooter returned with a gun from his parked car and shot him. Carlo Petrusa had, reportedly, come down to the club as he is familiar with the premise owner.

The shooter and the two men who had started the fight initially, had fled the scene before the police arrived. No arrests have been made yet. The party organizer Shawn Badgett, a suspected drug dealer is presently out of danger and has been released from the hospital. He was arrested in May in connection with the largest drug bust ever recorded on the East end. A search of Shawn Badgett’s house had revealed 40 bags of heroin, 5.6 ounces of crack cocaine and more than $70,000 in cash.
