Shooting Suspect At Chandler Mall In Police Custody

t1largbajafreshktvkJan 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A terrible confusion wreaked havoc at a local mall in Chandler, Arizona on Wednesday after police officials mistook a dangerous fugitive for another man. Police saw Adam Hernandez outside the Chandler Fashion Center mall who bore resemblance with Daniel Munoz Perez, the sought after criminal Chandler police is actually looking for. Adam Hernandez after realizing that police was chasing him fled inside the mall while firing at the police. After some time he shifted to the Baja Fresh Mexican Grill restaurant barricading himself with two other whom he took as hostages.

The situation which actually arose from confusion turned the shopping venue into a perfect pandemonium as firing issued out from both the sides. 27 year old Adam Hernandez started shooting at the police officials and this went on for several hours. Police had taken the preventive measure of evacuating the shopping complex so that the hostages could be rescued without any kind of harm. The mall was shut down almost for five hours and later reopened after Adam Hernandez was taken in police custody in the afternoon. However, it was not police who had reached him. Instead Adam Hernandez surrendered himself after several hours of confusion. Fortunately no harm had been done to the two hostages.

However, police chose not to cite any information about Adam Hernandez. Joe Favazzo, a spokesman of Chandler Police Department only said that they were looking for a dangerous criminal who had shot officials at the Arizona Department of Public Safety last month. It was a perfect dramatic ending to the entire situation which bore its roots to a mistaken identity.
