The former police detective named Jeffrey Lehrmann is now involved in the works of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He said in his statement that he failed to bring to the notice of the authorities about a cover up in the Danziger Bridge shootings investigation. He also admitted that he assisted in making a fake report of the incidents.

Michael Lohman, a former police lieutenant also pleaded guilty in connection with this cover up last month. Four people received injuries and two casualties took place after the shooting that happened after Hurricane Katrina rocked the Gulf Coast in 2005. Jeffrey Lehrmann is likely to face three years of imprisonment as punishment for the crime that he had committed. Apart from that he will be made to pay a fine of $250,000. Michael Lohman will face 5 years of jail term along with a fine of $250,000. Jeffrey Lehrmann took part in the ploy of his supervisors in preparing a cooked up report that had fake statements given by the officers who took part in the shooting. The report also had fake statements from nonexistent witnesses.

Lance Africk, the U.S. District Judge severely condemned the acts of Jeffrey Lehrmann and said that such abominable behavior is not expected from law enforcement officers. Earlier, the charges of murder labeled against 7 other cops were quashed by a judge. This revelation may prompt the prosecutors to re analyze the case.
