New York, July 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A “Friend For Life” has been forced to put down her papers and quietly resign from the Department Of Agriculture. The reasons aren’t too obscure to scan. Shirley Sherrod’s recent comments has failed to gain grounds with the Department of Agriculture officials who called it to be “Out Of Context” and ‘Highly Discriminatory” in nature.

The officials were of the opinion that Shirley Sherrod had discriminated against the white farmer. However, the farmer’s wife called her to be “A Friend For Life” who had helped the family to save their farm from an impending foreclosure. Shirley Sherrod who worked as the director of rural development in Georgia was forced to resign from her position by Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. When asked about it, the Agricultural Secretary pointed out that her recent remarks at the NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet speech on March 27 was “out of context” and was a “discriminatory approach”. On the other hand we have Eloise Spooner; the farmer’s wife who told the media that Shirley Sherrod made several trips to Albany to help the family from the clutches of foreclosure.

Some inside sources believe that the video of the speech has been altered by Andrew Breitbart. They said that Andrew Breitbart has purposely altered the video just to defame Shirley Sherrod and give it the shape of a racist comment. Hence he is a culprit in the true sense of the term and is guilty of Internet harassment. The incident is perhaps one of the recent instance of character assassination through Internet which can cause havoc to a person’s reputation.
