Goldthorpe, Mar 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A 5-year-old boy witnessed his mother fall and die in front of him in a supermarket. The 34-year-old single mother was chatting on the phone when she collapsed on the floor and died moments later.

Relatives say Shelley Cooper had no known medical conditions prior to her death. The incident happened at about two weeks ago in a groceries shop in Goldthorpe, South Yorkshire. Other shoppers in the shop tried to revive Shelley as she lay unconscious on the floor of the supermarket. Paramedics got her to the hospital but she never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The family members of Shelley are expecting the post mortem results to be released in three weeks.

Though shop assistants took Shelley’s son, Luke, away from the chaotic scene moments after her mother collapsed on the floor, Shelley’s sister said he might have already stood there long enough to see too much. The sister says Luke is now aware that he is not going to see his mother again.

Shelley has been cremated and the supermarket where she died has raised some funds to support her child.
