Sanford, Nov.17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Shaniya Davis, the 5 year old girl who was reported to be missing since last Tuesday was found dead on Monday. Police has found the body of the girl from a wooded road of North Carolina, close to her house. The tragic death of Shaniya who is a victim of child abuse and trafficking, has left everyone stunned in silence. The authorities have reportedly declined to comment over the issue.

Police also arrested Shaniya’s mother, Antoinette Davis, on Saturday. According to the police, she is accused of human trafficking, prostitution and felony child abuse. Warrants say that she provided her daughter, the innocent little girl, with intent that she be held in sexual servitude. Antoinette Nicole Davis is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $51,000 bond since Saturday.

Shaniya Davis was last seen alive at a Comfort Suites hotel in Sanford last week. Since she lived with her mother now, Antoinette Davis filed a missing person report to the police. Bradley Lockhart who is the father of the dead girl Shaniya Davis, said that he raised his daughter for quiet some time, but after her mother recently got a new job and a new home, he decided to let his daughter stay with her mother. Apparently her mother had other ideas about raising Shaniya and that’s why she decided to giver her away to Mario Andrette McNeill, who has admitted that he took the girl but at the same time, he is also claiming that he doesn’t know how she died.
