Nov. 1, Binghamton (THAINDIAN NEWS) The police ensured on Halloween that no kid was witness to a different form of horror than the ones created by them for fun. All convicted sex offenders were asked to keep to their respective locations and not to stray out, for fear that they might go on a molesting spree. The police kept an alert watch for them, checking on them from time to time. The sex offenders were ordered to stay in their respective locations and were assigned certain duties.
The only reason these people could move out of their locations was for the duties they were required to perform. These employment duties were pre-approved and they could only take the routes that would take them to and from work. Their locations were assigned by the police and were not disclosed. The police asserted that it was a safety measure taken by them to ensure that nothing spoils the enjoyment of the children out for trick and treating.
Parole officers rounded up these sex offenders as a measure of “Operation Halloween”. The State division of Parole sent around 12 officers from the Binghamton-Elmira area to sweep the area for sex offenders. The operation rounded up forty of them and the police were required to pay unannounced visits to their allotted locations. The police also made sure that these offenders answered phone calls and did not possess any pornographic films.
The police said that these precautions were necessary. They also asked the parents to make sure that their children were back at the stipulated time and to notify the police if they noticed any anomaly. This was a state wide operation and the registered sex offenders were not allowed to take part in the Halloween proceedings.

I’d prefer offenders say at home when my kids are out alone at night.
