Vatican City, Mar 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) German priest Father Peter Hullermann was convicted in 1986 on charges of molesting boys, and now he has been suspended, as he broke a rule that banned him from working with children. When he was working with the archdiocese of Munich and Freising, then he abused children there. After he was convicted, he was given an 18-month suspended jail sentence in 1986. The current Pope was the archbishop in the archdiocese of Munich and Freising.

The archdiocese said that Father Peter was “forbidden from any work with children”, and he was being suspended because he had breached the ban, but no details were mentioned, as to how he breached the ban. The archdiocese also declined to reveal the full name of the priest, even though the German media is well aware of the detail, and is also using his name, in all related articles.

The archdiocese said that he was suspended on Monday after “it was proved he did not comply with the conditions set following allegations of sexually abusing minors and a conviction in the justice system He was forbidden from any work with children and youth.”  There were also reports in the media that he had gone on a camping trip with some youths in Bavaria. This camping trip might have be the place, where he might have breached the ban.
