Severe weather conditions headed toward the mid-Atlantic
February 6th, 2010 - 12:31 am ICT by BNO NewsWASHINGTON, DC (BNO NEWS) — A strong blizzard is expected to hit the Mid-Atlantic States with several inches of snow expected Friday, the National Weather Service said.
Delaware will face severe weather with snowfall expected to reach 12 to 18 inches, while New Jersey may have up to 22 inches. Washington, Baltimore and Maryland will experience near-blizzard conditions, the weather service added.
The weather conditions will affect travel as several airlines have announced the cancellation of hundreds of flights since yesterday.
There have also been storm warnings in Virginia, West Virginia, Indiana, Ohio and South Carolina.
