Several killed in Michigan train-car collision

- CANTON, Michigan (BNO NEWS) — Several people were killed after a train struck a car in the Michigan town of Canton on Thursday, officials told BNO News.
The crash happened at around 12.45 p.m. on Hannan Road, which is near Michigan Avenue. “We are currently investigating the accident,” a police spokesman said.
About 150 people were on board the train, but none of them were injured. “We are not sure how many people died [in the car],” the spokesman added. Several media outlets, including the Associated Press and WDIV-TV, quoted officials as saying that 5 people had been killed.
A spokesman for the Canton fire department was not immediately available for comment. The cause of the crash is being investigated.
