Seven individuals charged for dog fighting conspiracy in St. Clair County, IL

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, ILLINOIS (BNO NEWS) – Seven people were indicted with one count of conspiracy to commit unlawful activities of dog fighting in St. Clair County, Illinois, prosecutors announced on Monday.

Judious Kizeart, 41, of Springfield, Illinois; Brent Cash, of Eldon, Missouri; Darryl Madison, 28, of St. Louis, Missouri; Thadius Page, 33, of Fairview Heights, Illinois; Terrill Clark, 33, of Lithonia, Georgia; Michael Williams, 29, of Red Bud, Illinois; and Gary Payne, 48, of St. Louis, Missouri, were arrested for allegedly organizing a dog fighting operation from November 2008 to April 2009.

Each defendant faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and three years of supervised release, if found guilty.

These arrests were the latest in a series of major animal fighting investigations conducted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Office of Inspector General since the passage of the Animal Fighting Prohibition Enforcement Act.
