Mar 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Those who have heard the name of Rodney Alcala, know the man as a serial killer who has been convicted for the murder of four innocent women and a little girl. However, some of them might be quite surprised to know that the psychopath had not only participated in a dating show on ABC way back in 1978 but was also successful in winning it.

The 66 year old serial killer was the winning bachelor on ABC’s “The Dating Show” which aired in 1978. However, within a short period of time the man was accused of killing as many as four women as well as an 8 year old girl. Meanwhile, in the decade old game show episode, Rodney Alcala was the first contestant to be introduced in the show in which a female participant would ask questions to three bachelors she could not see but was able to hear. While introducing Rodney Alcala who would later go on to become a psychopathic killer, the host added that the contestant was a successful photographer who had interest in sky-diving and motor cycling. Interestingly, after all the three bachelors were introduced, the lady participant Cheryl Bradshaw choose none other than the Rodney Alcala but reportedly never went on a real date with him.

However, within months of Rodney Alcala’s appearance in the dating show, he would become a ruthless serial killer responsible for mercilessly murdering five females. Last month, the psychopath was found guilty of taking multiple lives, including the rape and murder of an 8 year old girl. The convicted serial killer is now defending himself to convince the jury to refrain them from delivering a death sentence.
