The people residing in the area in and around Gaffney, South Carolina, had already been much dreaded at the killing of four people and adding to their fear it has been said that the person involved in the killing is a serial killer.

In Gaffney, the Sheriff of the town, Bill Blanton, has said to reporters, “Let me say that, under the FBI’s definition of a serial killer, yes, we have a serial killer.” To catch the killer who is on the loose for quite some time, another sketch of the man has been released on Friday from the Cherokee County Sheriff office. The authorities have also reported that the serial killer may be driving a two door Ford Explorer,which is light Grey or champagne color produced between 1991 and 1994.

Among the victims are a 63 year old farmer, Kline W. Cash, 83 year old Hazel Linder, his daughter Gena Linder Parker and 45 year old Stephen Tyler, whose 15 year old daughter was also shot but have survived and is now hospitalized. All of those who are dead has been shot under similar circumstances. Their bodies have been found in their respective homes.

While 100 investigators have been working to pin down the killer and increase security, the specified holidays of the members of the Police department and the Sheriff department have been canceled.
Residents of the rural community have been asked to be vigilant and take care of their relatives, especially those who stay alone. But this might also create panic among the residents who may end up identifying the wrong person.

Gaffney which is about 50 miles from South West of Charlotte, North Carolina, is a small town consisting of near about 54,000 people.
