Newark, Jan 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The recent blast attempt at the Detroit Airport on the Christmas Day has alerted authorities and they have declared to tighten the security measures of the airports, to ensure the safety of the travelers. Just one day after the securities of the airports have been tightened, a man at the Newark Airport breached the security measures of the airport. The officials of the airport were busy in screening the passengers following the new security measures, when they found that a man had entered from the Terminal C.
As per the reports, a passenger at the Newark Airport in New Jersey had moved toward the checkpoint of the Terminal C, without getting screened. The security officials of the airport tried to trace the man but failed. They did not know whether they had returned from the place for screening or boarded the plane and so called off all flights in the evening. Sari Koshetz, a spokeswoman of the Transportation Security Administration said that the officials had noticed a man coming to the ’sterile area’ and frozen the take-off of flights immediately. As they did not want to take any chances, they had screened the already boarded passengers one more time that led to a huge delay.
Newark Airport is one of the busiest airports of the country and the lockdown in this airport had affected the flights of other airports also. As the man managed to escape the airport officials, his motive behind entering the forbidden zone has remained unknown. Though the man had entered the sterile zone, there is no report of blast attempt.
