Sebastian Pinera, Chilean President Attends Rescue Mission

ttrOct 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Sebastian Pinera the President of Chile has dubbed the rescue operation to bring back the 33 ill fated miners from the depth of the accident struck copper mine at Atacama desert as something “without comparison in the history of humanity”. The president along with Chile’s first lady reached the site of the rescue ahead of the operation. The first miner to come out of the mine, Folrencio Avalos was hugged warmly by the president. The president said after receiving the first rescued miner that the lesson will stay in the memory for the nation. He also thanked the residents for their unrelenting support and love. His popularity soared considerably after he chose to stand by the miners at the time of their crisis. In fact he canceled a trip to Equador so that he can attend the rescue operation.

The Chilean President said in another statement “The miners will not be the same person they were before this accident and Chile will not be the same people.” Cecilia Morel his spouse was also at the side of her husband to provide solidarity to the family of the trapped miners. The musician brother of the president Miguel Pinera has also stood by the miner’s families. The president also said that the safety standard in the mine will definitely be improved before work can begin there.

The President has said that he will greet each of the trapped miners when they come out on the surface. He was presented a few rocks of the mine brought by one of the rescued miners as a souvenir.
