Seattle, Aug 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Whatever President Barack Obama does becomes a headline and at times things he is not directly involved with also make headlines. The same thing happened during his visit to Seattle. The security at the places the US president visits is beefed up to ensure nothing or no one can intrude in his convoy. However, the security staff saw red when a small aircraft intruded into the safe airspace over the location of the president. A couple of F-15 fighter jets were flown in from Portland’s Air National Guard unit. However when the two jets reached the Seattle sky the small plane had already left and it could not be traced.
The fighter jets created sonic boom which rocked the Seattle region for some time and the residents wondered what was happening. The air force officials later said that the small aircraft’s pilot did not possibly realize that he had violated the airspace norm. However, he posed no serious threat at all. Later the plane had landed in a regional airport. It has been reported that the Secret Service agents may take the interview of the pilot.
The small sized Cessna 180 float plane was going to an airport at Lake Washington adjacent to Seattle. There was a passenger inside named Laura Joseph. She said that neither she nor the aircrafts pilot had any idea that the plane had got into the forbidden airspace. She did not even know about the visit of the president in Seattle. Unlike the resident of the Seattle she could not hear the sonic booms made by the two F-15 fighter jets.
