San Fransisco, Dec 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Sea Lions that have crowded at the Pier 39, in San Francisco, from early years of the 90’s have moved away all of a sudden. These water animals used to attract a large number of viewers from different places and their sudden disappearance has surprised the tourists. A 63 year old writer, Arsalan Ziazie, who has been visiting the place for more than two decades, had seen the a large number of sea lions every year and the sudden disappearance of these animals appear to him “very strange”.
Though Sea Lions are known for frequent migration, the tourists as well as the biologists have been startled by this activity of the Sea Lions. Sausalito’s Marine Mammal Center’s executive director, Jeff Boehm consider that Sea Lions have moved away from the place to chase some food source. He also said that it might be the food source that have attracted them to this region for several years and now they might have found some other source, which have made them move. However, the scientists have not yet declared any reason for the disappearance of the Sea Lions. According to the reports, they are still monitoring their activities to find out the reason for leaving the place.
Whatever be the reason for the sudden relocation of the Sea Lions, travelers have been disappointed, as Sea Lions formed one of the major attractions of San Francisco. People are hopeful that they would get to see a large group of Sea Lions in the 39 Piers as it is not clear whether they have left the place permanently.
