Scott McClellan is a traitor Americans saysJune 20th, 2008 - 11:14 pm ICT by David M N James
McClellan is being branded a traitor for being a key element the leaking of CIA operative Valerie Plame.
This came up in the opening moments of today’s House judiciary committee hearings, McClellan got slammed by Republican Lamar Smith of Texas. Lamar questioned whether McClellan’s book was actually written by his editor, who, he said, has called President Bush “a clearly horrible person.” which published McClellan’s book “What Happened,” said the comment came not from Weber the editor but from his daughter.
Lamar has pointed out that McClellan wrote the book so as to get money and recognition not any literary or scholarly distinction.
He also suggested that McClellan wrote the expose to merely get back at those in the White House who fired him. “While we may never know the answers, Scott McClellan alone will have to wrestle with whether it was worth selling out the president and his friends for a few pieces of silver.” Americans are saying that If McClellan wanted to be a hero he would have spoken out while still the Press Secretary, regardless of the repercussions and as such he was a traitor who should be tried for treason.
