Residents of an eastern Illinois farming community are enraged over the, conversion of a vacant property which was known as Pioneer School in the past to a, strip club called The School House.

The school district sold the property in the year 2002. It is now co-owned by Bob Kearney who renovated the building turning it into a strip club. He said that his establishment has helped the community by creating jobs in the tough financial times, but this does not seem to quell the rage of the residents who were once teachers or students there.

Seventy year old Bill Moran who lives across the road said that a place like this leads to is rape, venereal diseases and divorces.

Neighbors voice regular complaints of finding drunken patrons on their property. But most residents opine that the presence of the club in an old elementary school makes it more hateful. Michelle Porter, 33, who attended the school, said that it is corrupting the memory.

The former teacher lounge has been into a VIP room where strippers entertain customers. Kearney has retained certain signs of the school including multiplication tables on one wall and a history of U.S. presidents. But the sign on the entrance of the building show the shift in destiny of the yellow brick building. It now reads that the dancers working in the club are entertainers not prostitutes so patrons shouldn’t ask.
