Fake Show Boston, Mar 3 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Enterprising scammers cheated thousands of brides-to-be by setting up a fake show on a bogus website. They advertised the fake show as the ‘biggest and the most extravagant’ on a website, and lots of vendors and brides-to-be were duped by the claims. The vulnerable brides-to-be were fooled by the advertisement on the website, which said that they could win ‘fabulous gifts and prizes’. After the scam was discovered then the police and the FBI experts were called in.

The police revealed the other details about the scam, and said that the website was called ‘The Boston 411’ and they invited many brides-to-be and other potential wedding-material vendors to the Spring Home and Bridal Show at the Hynes Convention Center on the weekend. Their ploy was successful and around 6,000 people and vendors signed up and also paid the registration fees. Since the website had also said that their would be many beautiful wedding displays, demonstrations and samples, so many of the vendors who supply wedding materials also bought some floor space at the Spring Home and Bridal Show at the Hynes Convention Center through the website.

The scam came to light, when the vendors of the wedding materials called up the Spring Home and Bridal Show at the Hynes Convention Center, and asked them if they could come and set up the stalls for their goods, but instead they got the shock of their lives, when the convection centre officials informed them that the centre wasn’t booked for any such show.
