palin Alaska, Sep 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Renowned writer - Joe McGinniss is finally heading home to Massachusetts after a three month stay in the neighborhood of former Alaska governor and Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. It may be recalled that McGinniss fled to Palin’s neighborhood in order to get to know her more and be able to write a book on her life.

Palin wasn’t happy about the arrival of the writer across her street in May and she even expanded her wall, so McGinnis would only be able to see a small portion of her house from his driveway. The writer however said he wasn’t in the neighborhood to spy on the Palin’s or eavesdrop on them.

In his defense he said that, “I’ve been very busy but on Lake Lucille it’s been very quiet. As I told Todd back in May — he came over to get in my face about moving in there — I said, ’You’re not even going to know I’m there. A lot of the time, I’m not going to be here. And when I am, I mind my own business. I don’t care what happens on your side of the fence. That’s not why I’m here.”’

McGinnis stated that Palin’s husband Todd confronted him when he moved to Lake Lucille but he promised him that he wasn’t there to intrude into their lives and he kept his promise throughout his stay.

McGinniss is famous for writing popular books such as The Selling of the President, Fatal Vision, etc. He went to Alaska in the 1970s to research and write a book about the effects of crude oil exploration on ordinary Alaskans.
