Sandra Cantu, the girl missing since March 27 from her home in Tracy, California has been finally found dead inside a suitcase in a dairy-farm pond near her California home on Monday. No suspect has been identified by the police so far. The family of the young girl was devastated after the news of Sandra’s death broke out. Tracy police spokesperson Tony Sheneman said, “They have just experienced the unimaginable,”.
The day Sandra Cantu was last seen, she returned home from school, kissed her mother and went to play with a friend who lives in their neighborhood. After short time, Sandra left that home to go to another friend’s home, as said by the spokeswoman for her family.
Ever since the girl was missing the police were working round the clock to identify a suspect. The police said they were following leads that might turn helpful in finding the girl out. While no news came out till Sunday, the police is reported to have more than 1000 leads as of the ninth day. As per the statements of Tracy police Sgt. Tony Sheneman, they viewed this case as a missing one rather than a case of abduction.
The reward money for information leading to Sandra Cantu’s whereabouts was set at $26,000.The girl was last seen by her family wearing a pink Hello Kitty T-shirt and black leggings and the authorities identified the girl’s body by her clothes she was wearing.
