251San Francisco, July 5, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Redwood City of San Francisco turned towards age old parades over the traditional fireworks to celebrate July 4th. What made it evident were the pangs of economy which have taken a hard hit upon the city municipalities who are saving funds by cutting down the extravagant fireworks.

As a matter of fact there was an all round easygoing energy which made a total of 130 officials taking part in the parade. U.S. Navy’s Commander Submarine Group of Alameda carried the color guard in the parade. A Ford Fiesta pulled the most colorful float which was decked up as a monster bumble-bee. Alongside was a dressing of a blue butterfly which served as the seat for the young girls. David Ingram who was driver of the Fiesta told the media that the kids loved and enjoyed each and every moment of the parade. Considering the enthusiasm of the people, the parade can be called a delightful affair over the fireworks. In fact, it was David Ingram who has worked as a volunteer for the Church of Scientology mission in Redwood City and have worked for two weeks to make the float ready.

The parade stretched over 1.25 miles which had the people cheering at them. The City Council members were driving their vintage cars in the parade as Police Chief Louis Cobarruviaz waved the American flag as he stood in a flat-bed truck. Along with him were a band of two who played the Blues shuffles. The scout troops along with the little leaguers also took part in the parade in huge numbers.
