According to the details that have been available till now, as many as 60,000 participants are likely to take part in the footrace which is held on the third Sunday of the month of May every year.

Given the fact that the costumes that are worn in the event turn out to be one of its major highlights, like every previous year even this time around the participants are focusing on the kind of outfits that they would be adorning for the event. Race organizers have stated that the runners would have to travel from the Embarcadero to Hayes Street Hill which would then lead to the way downhill along the Panhandle through the Golden Gate Park. It was also been warned earlier that due to the race these roads would be closed for vehicles so drivers should avoid these areas to steer clear of any kind of inconvenience.

Meanwhile, race manager Angela Fang has told news sources that around 48 creative floats have been registered for the event while for the very first time this year the participants would have to shell out a fee of $250 in order to register the floats. The initiative is said to have been undertaken keeping in mind the impact that the event has on the neighborhoods after 30 floats were deserted by the edge of the park last year which later had to be taken care of.
