Sep 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A San Bruno inhabitant has sued Pacific Gas and Electric Company because of a gas pipeline explosion that had occurred near his abode on the 9th of September.

Steve Dare lives in the neighborhood, where the natural gas pipeline explosion took place and which managed to destroy more than 30 homes. Apart from the houses, which were damaged, there were other after effects as well.

Even though Steve’s rented apartment was not destroyed in the blast, and neither was he injured, yet he has sued the Pacific Gas and Electric Company. He had to vacant his accommodation for several days because of the after effects of the explosion, according to his attorney William Audet.

Steve’s lawyer – Audet has filed the lawsuit against the PG&E in the San Mateo County Superior County on the behalf of all the residents of the neighborhood. He plans to claim damages on behalf of all the residents, who were affected by the blast. He also added that the lawsuit basically aims to $100 million trust fund for all the explosion victims.

“The problem now is the lack of transparency with respect to the overall distribution of the funds. We think that this would remove any problems with conflicts with PG&E’s own agenda,” according to Audet.

PG&E officials said that they are going to issue checks of upto $50,000 to the victims of the blast.
