San Bruno Fire Injures 30, Evacuation Started

San Bruno, Sep 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Over 30 people received injuries in a deafening explosion in a San Francisco neighborhood which had set several households on fire and made the residents panicked. The regional utility officials expressed the view that the root cause of the huge blast and resultant fire was an explosion in the natural gas pipe running underground in the locality. The place is adjacent to San Francisco International Airport and several buildings were gutted down in the fire there and the authorities were force to start evacuation on an emergency basis. People from the San Francisco coroner’s office rushed to the spot of the accident.
Several firemen reached the spot and they were trying to douse the flame to the best of their capabilities. The explosion was heard from faraway places and people staying in houses even half a mile away from the pace said they could feel their homes shaking in the after effect of the explosion. The blast took place near the busy airport prompting many to think it could be a terrorist attack but the truth was revealed pretty soon. The Kaiser Medical Center is treating 15 people as per the updates. They were severely injured in the blast. Two other people were admitted to San Francisco General Hospital and their condition was said to be critical.
The fire is massive and the flames shot up almost 200 feet high. The situation has made the city authorities tense and they are on tenterhooks. The fire scared many residents and the children got panicked. Some people also tried to ensure that their kids and pets were safe after they heard about the blast and fire.
