Dec 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Sabrina Parker was the youngest patient diagnosed with the deadly disease of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), at the age of fifteen. She left her last breathe at the Duke University Hospital yesterday.

It was rather tough for her grandparents to accept the death of their beloved grand daughter. Her grand father Noland Parker and grand mother Zelma Parker became her legal guardian, when her mother, Melissa Kay Parker, died at the age of 24 due to the same disease. The old couple has seen the baby evolve into a young, dignified women with all the qualities and traits of a sixteen year old. She loved hanging out with her pals, loved listening to music, play soft ball and mingled with almost everyone whom she came across. However, her grandparents are extremely proud of her, for the way she dealt with her disease with maturity and positive attitude. Her grandfather said that despite knowing about her disease, she lived her life to the fullest and even he gave their granddaughter full liberty to do that. He remembers Sabrina Parker as a freedom loving girl, who loved waking up whenever she wanted to.

Her death came up as a shock to Matt Scozzari, her boyfriend. Sabrina Parker initially did not speak about the disease to him, as she wanted to enjoy every moment of her life, till the time she is alive. However, when he came to know about her disease, he was sweet and gentle to her. He even gifted her a ring from the “Twilight:New Moon”, her favorite book, that inscribed “What would I do without you?”
