Ryanair London, Apr 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The discount airline – Ryanair is planning to change the toilet habits of its passengers, by charging a ‘toilet-fee’ in the near future. They are in the process of implementing plans in which the toilets would be coin-operated on almost its entire fleet of 168 planes. Besides this, they also have plans to reduce the number of toilets on the plane, in a bid to re-use that much space to seat more passengers. So Ryanair is now asking Boeing to redesign the cabins, and to reduce the number of toilets on board.

Soon the passengers would have access to just one toilet, which would be coin-operated and would service all the 189 passengers on board. The airline is thinking about levying a fee of one pound or one euro per toilet-trip, on flights that are of one hour or of a lesser duration.

A Ryanair official said to the media that by this initiative they hope to change the passenger’s toilet-habits. “By charging for the toilets we are hoping to change passenger behavior so that they use the bathroom before or after the flight,” Ryanair spokesman Stephen McNamara said. “That will enable us to remove two out of three of the toilets and make way for at least six extra seats.”
