July 20th, 2010 - 11:33 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattMoscow, July 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Russian authorities might prosecute all those who were responsible for a donkey parasailing stunt on a Russian beach over the weekend.
The animal parasailed high in the sky and the event was captured on video. Though the donkey survived, it was an ordeal, which was too hard for it. And it kept trembling from the shock of the flight.
Beachgoers were worried after they saw the animal attached to the parachute flying over them. Throughout the flight, the donkey was shell shocked and brayed in fear and finally it glided over the beach. The ordeal continued for about a half an hour. “The donkey screamed and children cried. No-one had the brains to call police,” according to the regional police spokeswoman Larisa Tuchkova.
According to media reports from Russia, the stunt was a promotional one and the employees of the company that organized the stunt could face jail sentence for animal cruelty. If convicted on the charges of animal cruelty, they could be jailed for up to 2 years. The company that organized the stunt is believed to be located at Golubitskaya village in the Krasnodar region in Russia.
Russian authorities take the issue of animal cruelty very seriously. Strict laws ensure that subjecting animal to any form of cruelty might get the offender jailed.
