Nov.19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Speculations are running high regarding Cuban dictator Fidel Castro as rumors are circulating in the internet that claim that the Cuban politician has passed away. Although the news has not been confirmed as yet, many online portals are allegedly claiming Castro has died on Wednesday, after suffering from prolonged illness. At the same time, many websites have implied that the the Cuban politician is alive and news of his death are nothing but rumors without any basis of truth.
It is being presumed that the rumor has grabbed attention all over the internet as the Cuban leader has not been doing well for quite some time now and it was because of his ailing heath that he transferred the power and passed the responsibilities to his younger brother Raul Castro in the year 2006. Moreover, the fact that the Cuban authority have never really revealed details about the leader’s health condition to the media might have fueled the speculations. As of now, whether the former Cuban leader has died or not cannot be confirmed, until and unless the Cuban officials shed some light on the news.
83 year old Fidel Castro is among the most prominent leaders of the Cuban revolution, which saw the overthrow of the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista- which was backed by the United States. He then became the Prime Minister of Cuba and later assigned the role of the President of the Council of State of Cuba, but he dissolved his duties in 2008 due to health concerns. Since then, his brother Raul Castro succeeded him and became the President.
