Roosevelt, NY woman arrested for killing daughter
February 16th, 2010 - 12:44 am ICT by BNO NewsNASSAU, NEW YORK (BNO NEWS) – A Roosevelt, New York woman was arrested Monday for the death of her daughter, which occurred last Friday local police said.
Shawnta Montgomery, 20, of Roosevelt, New York was arrested after being charged with Manslaughter 1st Degree.
Dishawna Montgomery, age 2, went into cardiac arrest while being transported to Nassau University Medical Center. A medical technician was performing CPR in the Nassau County Police Department Ambulance, but the baby was pronounced dead at 10:50 a.m. local time by hospital staff.
An autopsy revealed the child died from a lacerated liver.
Montgomery will be arraigned in First District Court on Monday.
