Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Divorces Wife Of 16 Years

cr-31July 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has filed for divorce on May 12, 2010, just three days before his wife Mary Richardson Kennedy was charged with drunken driving. The much talked about divorce came a day before Bedford police responded to the Kennedy home for a “domestic incident.” The police revealed that RFK Jr.’s wife accused him of verbally abusing her and her children.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has not cited any reason for his divorce to the media yet. The son of Senator Robert F. Kennedy was not even present for his wife’s arraignment on May 28, however, Mary Kennedy was pleaded not guilty and agreed to evaluate herself to see if she needed any treatment for alcohol or not. The couple has four children John Conor, 16, Kyra LeMoyne, 15, William Finbar, 13 and Aidan Vieques, 9. The media is speculating that may be the reason for the divorce is Mary Kennedy’s alcoholism, however, there is no confirmation of the news. The police authorities have further revealed that reported in the Kennedy house twice prior to her arrest.

Mary Kennedy is due on Town Court on July 22 for her verdict. However, her lawyer Kerry Lawrence has declined to comment anything regarding the case and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was not found for any comments. This is Robert Kennedy Jr.’s second divorce after his separation with Emily Ruth Black. They divorced on March 1994 and after about a week he married Mary Richardson Kennedy on April 15, 1994. Robert F. Kennedy Junior is a prominent environmentalist and has most recently involved in the repercussions of the BP oil spill.
