rob Mar 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) We all know how bad the economy is. People all over the United States as well as the rest of the world are out of jobs, and the unemployment rate has skyrocketed. Businesses are closing, the economy is crashing, and the cost of living is going up, up, up. This is not news to anyone, although it does make the headlines everyday of the week. There is, however, a new story which perhaps gives some insight into just how empty our pockets are.

Authorities with the Sheriff’s Department in Riverside County California are reporting the story of a woman, who robbed 11 people at a market. She was armed with a semi automatic pistol, and entered the La Chicanita Market store at 88-740 Avenue 70, near Pierce Street, in the city of Thermal. The report came in at 2:56 pm on Tuesday.

Sheriff’s Deputy Herlinda Valenzuela said that the woman confronted the ten customers who were already in the store, and then turned on a new customer entering the market as well. Apparently, she held the ten customers up at gunpoint and demanded cash from them. After collecting all she could from those victims, she turned toward the door to leave. Just as she reached the door, another customer was coming in and she demanded cash from them as well. The woman then fled in an older car which they thought to be a Honda. No one was injured.

“What does a robbery have to do with the economy?” you may ask. After collecting the money from 11 people’s pockets at gunpoint, the woman only managed to get away with about $6. Apparently everyone who was at the store planned to use a debit/credit card?
