RNC Mailers Lead To Phone Sex Service

Washington, Apr 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Republican National Committee would find it hard to get out of this one. In order to raise some funds for the organization, they had sent out some mails. The problem with those mails was that, they contained a particular number. If the recipients of the mails dialed the number, they would then be directed to yet another number. According to reports, this second number provided the callers with the facility to have phone sex with real women, who have been described in the recorded call as housewives, students and working women. The caller is further lured by promises of having a real “nasty girl” who would be doing anything, and the charge would be only $2.99 per minute.
Needless to say, this does not bode well for an organization which is already neck deep in a bottomless pit of troubles. However, the organization refuted the allegations, saying that it had all been a grave mistake, and that the problem is completely the responsibility of the vendor who was entrusted with the creation of the mails. According to the Republican National Committee, the vendor had, by mistake, used the prefix 1-800 instead of the correct 1-202, leading to the problem.
The organization has not disclosed as to how many copies of the mailer had been already sent before the goof up was discovered. They insist that it was only an isolated incident, something which most critics agree with. The goof up was discovered only when some of the recipients of the mailer called up the given number to complain about the mail, which, they claimed, looked more like some government campaign than a fundraiser attempt.
