New York, Feb 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Virgin Atlantic head Richard Branson unveiled an underwater plane which can fly beneath too. It is basically a submarine that has fighter jet technology, which would give the plane the capability for underwater flying too. The 59 year old charismatic Richard Branson said that an US company Hawkes has built the Necker Nymph prototype, which can go up to a depth of even 130 feet.
The plane costs around a whooping $664,000. “It is very similar to an airplane flying in the sea. You can literally do loop-the-loops,” Branson said. This underwater plane is operated by a joystick. He added that the plane is going to be based at his private Necker Island Resort. The resort will offer underwater tours to vacationers who vacation at his resort. This underwater plane is quite an achievement, but at the same time, it is not very high on speed angle. It can achieve up to 5 nautical miles an hour.
The CEO of Virgin Airlines has more ambitious and exciting plans for his resort guests. He is also thinking about developing a submarine that can take the riders to the depths of ocean, where normal submarines cannot go due to water pressure. This submarine dream is not impossible to be achieved, and the way technology is progressing, it wouldn’t be a dream for long.
