Feb 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Richard Branson, the head of Virgin Atlantic has uncovered a submarine created with the help of fighter jet technology that will allow underwater “flying.” The 59-year-old said on Friday that the model will travel 35,000 feet below the surface of the ocean, according to reports. He said it is going to be very similar to “an airplane flying in the sea.” He added that the carbon fiber plane will remain at his private Necker Island. Underwater tours will be provided to the vacationers visiting the island. The toy will surely draw more guests.
The underwater plane is partly a submarine and partly an airplane. It will give the guests of Necker Island a chance to explore the depths of ocean with lots of ease. Two people and the pilot can a dive to the depths of sea and stay there for 2 hours. The underwater craft can turn 360 degree like a real air plane, asserts the company.
It even promises to give the guests a view of ancient shipwrecks. It will allows them to swim with dolphins or whales without harming any of the sea creatures. It has very low noise and light emission, which would not affect the ocean ecosystem. The craft will use a downward lift for descending unlike the usual submarines that use ballast.
This unique craft created by the firm “Deep Flight” had earlier designed crafts for James Cameron as well as Branson Steve Fossett. The craft of the latter was created in a way that allowed to descend 37,000 under sea. It managed to cover 350 feet in each second.
