Oct 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) According to a report in the Reno Gazette-Journal, a five year old cat named “Stewie” has been named the world’s longest cat’. Stewie was certified in the Guinness Book of World Records after measuring a little over four feet long at forty-eight and a half inches from tip of the tail bone to tip of the nose.

Stewie is a Maine Coon moggy from Reno, Nevada, and he took the title from another Maine Coon who was an inch shorter than he is. The owners, Robin Hendrickson and Erik Brandsness said that so many people had commented on the cat’s length that they decided to try for the record. According to Robin, Maine Coons are known as the “gentle giants” of the cat world.
