Red Cross Corroborates The Existence Of A Secret Jail At Bagram In Afghanistan

Nine previous inmates have declared to the BBC that they were in custody in a separate edifice, and put through maltreatment.
The US military has divulged that the central prison, now referred to as the Detention Facility in Parwan, is the solitary incarceration facility on the base.
However, it has expounded that it will take a look at the accusations of mistreatment mentioned to the BBC.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has revealed that, since August 2009, the American authorities have been informing to it the names of the apprehended people in a separate edifice at Bagram.
A Red Cross spokesperson has articulated that the ICRC is being alerted by the American authorities about the detained individuals within 14 days of their seizure. This has been a regular practice since August 2009 and is an initiative greeted by the ICRC.
The spokesperson was reacting to a query from the BBC about the being of the facility, talked about by numerous past jailbirds as the Tor Jail, which can be interpreted as the black jail.
The ICRC spokesperson articulated that they are being told about the seized individuals at the Bagram Theatre Internment Facility [now Detention Facility in Parwan] since Feb 2008.
In recent weeks, the BBC has cataloged the statements of nine former jailbirds, who have unveiled that they had been detained in the alleged Tor Jail.
