People are trying to save money in various ways post recession and postponing the wedding plans is another way to cut on expenditure for some of them. The reluctance to get married can also be attributed to job loss and unemployment looming large in several states of the USA.

A study was conducted covering the adults aged between 25 to 34 years. A whopping 46.3 percent replied that they were single. This percentage exceeded the share of married adults for the first time.
