Real Estate Monstrosity Selling ‘As Is’ For $75 Million Monstrosity

June 23, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The largest home on the market in US at present is not furnished. It is expected to sell ‘as is’ for the sum of $75 million. The huge space, described as monumental does not feature any carpets or tiles or even the internal walls.
That is up to the buyer. It can be decorated as per the wishes of the new owner once the deal gets under way. However, there has been an additional option for the buyers. Paying $100 million will enable them to claim ownership on the completed house.
David Siegel, the tycoon who made his money selling time shares, had started this house. It boasts of a huge cavernous space measuring 90,000 square feet. Add to that thirteen bathrooms, twenty three bedrooms and ten kitchens and you may just be able to imagine the enormity of it all. Other facilities abound too with the house having a 20 car parking facility replete with an indoor bowling alley, three swimming pools, baseball courts, movie theaters, roller rink and video arcades. An additional space for housing two extra limousines has been provided as well.
The huge building has been often likened to the French royal palace and called ‘Versailles’ fondly. It came on the market recently after Siegel stopped the construction work in the aftermath of the recession.
Real estate agents may have a tough time disposing it as even Tiger Wood’s house which is in the neighborhood looks miniscule when compared to this monstrosity. “It is a typical example of over indulgence”, remarked Jack McCabe, an analyst dealing with the real estate in Florida.
