Caldwell County, May 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A 75-year-old golfer was attacked by a fox as he played on the Granada Farms Country Club Golf Course on River Drive. The incident happened on the 11th of May when Dennis Kincaid and his friends played on the course.

With the help of his friends, the fox was finally killed. When the carcass was passed on to animal health inspectors, they found that the animal had rabies and that has prompted doctors to start rabies’ treatment on him.

Giving accounts on what happened, Dennis told reporters that he was on the course at hole 17 when the animal emerged from the bushes and jumped on to him. He said he tried to fight the animal off himself but when he realized he couldn’t do it, he called on his friends who came rushing in with their clubs. After several swings, the animal was struck in the head resulting in its death.

The supervisor of Caldwell County Animal Control Field, Shanon Foster, advised that, “If you see abnormal behavior out of wildlife, especially wildlife, please let us know so that we can go apprehend the fox or wildlife or whatever.”

Rabies treatment for Dennis started on Friday.
