London, April 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The parents of Kate Middleton, Michael and Carole, were invited by the Queen of England for lunch. It is believed that this is the first time that the two have met the Queen.

Queen Elizabeth and the Middletons met at a private lunch at the Windsor Castle on Wednesday. According to reports, the lunch lasted less than an hour. There had been speculations in the media and elsewhere that the Queen would not meet the Middletons before the Royal Wedding. A source told the British newspaper Daily Mail that the meeting had been arranged long time ago.

Sources told PEOPLE that the event was held at a “warm atmosphere.” Prince Phillip and other members of the royal family were reportedly at the event. However conspicuously missing was the soon-to-be wedded couple. According to a report by Daily Mail, Kate Middleton is shopping for the upcoming wedding while Prince William is on duty with the Royal Air Force.

The much-hyped Royal Wedding will take place on the 29th of April at the Westminster Abbey. With live broadcasts confirmed by virtually all the major networks in the world, it is believed that millions of people will witness the event.
